So we’re headed out for Labor Day for our last big trip for a while. Wanna guess where we’re off to???
Do you give up yet????
Why Disney of course!
If you’ve been here for a while, you’ll know that we considered DC for a bit but hubby talked the kids into Disney and I agreed since it was closer to home given my current “condition”. I’m excited to do Disney pregnant and see how’s it’s different than past trips.
This trip will be a little different though. Hubby’s leaving for class this Sunday and will be flying to Orlando to meet us. That means I’ll be driving to Disney for Labor Day weekend. I normally don’t mind driving when I’m comfortable with where I’m going. Yes I’m comfortable at Disney but don’t usually drive there so don’t know the way as well as I’d like to. I also hate driving on the express way. There are so many crazy drivers out there who think they own the road that just make things much more stressful than they need to be. I’ll make it work with as little stress as possible because I so need a vacation but I won’t like the drive and will be thrilled when hubby’s plane lands and he can go back to driving. I’ll need the break after spending two weeks being a single parent with my two kiddos. Normally I love the little break but the exhaustion and “morning” sickness that lasts all. day. long. is really kicking my butt this time and a bit of help would be great.
My plan is to leave about noon on Friday for Disney, pick up Carter from daycare then head over and get Corbin from school before we hit the road. We should be able to be on our way about 1 which would put us in Orlando between 6 and 7. I’ve planned for a little bit of extra time since I know it will be busier on a Friday afternoon before a holiday weekend.
Here’s where I need some feedback….what should we do when we arrive in Orlando? We’re staying very near Downtown Disney so we could head there, drive over to the Poly and catch the monorail to the Magic Kingdom for an hour or so, head to the condo to check in and do some swimming before heading to the airport or leave a little later and stop at the airport on the way down. This is why staying on site this trip would have been awesome – I wouldn’t have had to worry about when to leave and get hubby from the airport because he could have done the Magical Express option. We’re not staying on site this time so I’ve got to figure out what to do. I’ve never had to go to the airport before so I’m not sure how much time to allot for the pick up of hubby. I also don’t want to rely on his flight times too much in case there are delays or something (that’s a whole ‘nother issue I’ve got to figure out – what to do with two tired kiddos while waiting at the airport).
Dinner’s another thing I’ve got to figure out – should I feed my children on the way down or wait for hubby? My kids will eat twice so I’m not too worried about this part of the trip. 🙂
So if you had an hour or two what would you do???
