Having to rent a car while on vacation can be a big expense. With Disney, you can put that money into your budget for something else because a vehicle isn’t needed if you’re flying into Orlando International Airport (MCO) when staying on site at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel. From the moment you board in your hometown, you won’t have to think about driving again until the plane touches back down at home.
Know the Lingo
Magical Express – a complimentary transportation from Orlando International Airport to Walt Disney World Resorts.
Magic Your Way Package – a package purchased directly from Disney or from a Disney travel agent including your room and park tickets. Disney Dining Plan can also be added to this package.
On property – referring to staying on Disney property at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel.
Leaving the airport.
When booking your Magic Your Way package you’ll be asked to enter flight information if that pertains to your trip. This allows you to take part in Disney’s Magical Express. Because it’s already included in the cost of your vacation, you won’t need to add anything else into your budget for this service. A couple of weeks before your trip, you’ll get some magical mail that has luggage tags inside for you to use. Once your bags are all packed, simply attach the tags to them. Say goodbye to your bags at the airport when you check them because you won’t see them again until you arrive in your resort room. Not only do you not have to drive on vacation, you don’t have to wait at baggage claim to find your bags. Upon landing in Orlando, you’ll proceed to the Disney’s Magical Express Check In area. A Cast Member will greet you and before you know it, you’ll be boarding a magical bus to take you to your resort.
Getting to the parks.
The fun doesn’t end there – once you’re ready to hit the parks, simply hop on the provided transportation from your resort to whatever park you’d like to visit for the day. Each resort has an area with bus stops to the different Disney parks. Some resorts also offer other methods of transportations like monorails or boats. All these methods of transportation are free and available for any Disney guest to use.
Getting back to the resort.
You’ll also find locations at each of the parks to take Disney transportation back to your Disney resort. Simply follow the signs to your preferred method of transportation. It’s really that easy.
Heading back home.
When it’s time to head back to reality, you’ll just reboard your Disney’s Magical Express bus and they’ll take you right back to the airport. Once again you won’t need to worry about your bags – just follow the instructions left in your room.

My family uses Magical Express each time we visit WDW, we couldn’t be happier. I often hear podcasts and read blogs about the long wait at the airport, we have never encountered that; and if I did, it would only heighten our anticipation to the Happiest Place on Earth. I would highly recommend using Magical Express.
