As I was checking my email frantically Monday morning as part of the panic with the Disney Moms Panel craziness, I saw an email from my friend Mary over at Capturing Magical Memories. Even though I couldn’t read the entire subject line, I immediately starred it because I knew I wanted to come back and read it. It said:
Planning Out Your ‘Must Do’s’ so You can Do the ‘Want To’s
I was so excited to see this!! Mary always has the answers to everything so it didn’t really surprise me that she could read my mind and know I needed help with this too. When I was finally able to peek at the email, I was a little bit sad that she didn’t give me any big secrets. I mean seriously, she’s like Mary Poppins with her bag of tricks so I was expecting a huge secret to be revealed. She did share that she got an Erin Condren planner and was using that to plan out her “must do” things like blogging so she could do more “want to” things like scrapbooking and spending time with her adorable little man and sweet hubby (she didn’t say all that but I know the little guy is adorable – I mean check out her blog and see for yourself! – and her hubby is our travel agent so I know he’s sweet and fantastic at what he does).
Mary’s email did get me thinking though about how I can start to get back on a more consistent schedule. Since my recent health scare, I have cut back quite a bit on “extra” things. I made the sad decision to quit submitting posts to a couple of blogs that I previously blogged for so that I could focus more here on my blog as well as my real job and my own kiddos. Out came my Erin Condren planner and I jumped back into getting plans for upcoming posts as well as things that were coming up in “real life” that needed to get done. While the concept is simple, sometimes putting it in place is harder than it sounds. We schedule time for things that we may not want to do but have to do so why wouldn’t we schedule the fun stuff too? My goal for this weekend to get some of the fun that’s on my calendar checked off as well as some of the “to do” list stuff too.
