Thanks to our awesome travel agent Joe DeFazio we’ve got pixie dust coming our way in just 71 days!! He’s been amazing in helping us plan our trip this year. Here’s what we’ve got so far:
We’re skipping town on Thursday, October 25th to head to our happy place. Thankfully it’s under six hours for us to drive down (hopefully the children and traffic will cooperate with these plans) and we’re planning on being all checked in before Hallowishes starts so we can watch it from our room. Yup – I said FROM OUR ROOM!!! We’re staying at the Contemporary for the first two night – both of which are Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party nights so we’ll get to see the fireworks!! I never thought I’d stay in a deluxe resort. Spending that much money on a room to sleep in makes me want to throw up…I could stay at a value for a lot longer but it’s a one time deal (unless I win the lottery or something…then maybe we’d do it again). We won’t have park tickets right away so we’ll be spending time exploring the hotel and making good use of the pool and just riding the monorail (one of the boy’s favorite things to do!). Hubby’s mentioned a couple of times possibly upgrading to Club Level so maybe that will be in store for us as well. I’m just beyond excited to see fireworks and my castle from our room. The only thing better I think would be actually staying in the castle for the night!!
After our two nights of being spoiled, we’ll move to Caribbean Beach (CBR) for the next eight nights of vacation. I’m hoping our reservations get moved to Port Orleans – fingers crossed for that!! We like the bigger rooms at CBR but the “beach” theme doesn’t really put me in the vacation mood since we live 10 miles from the ocean. Checking in to CBR will mean we’ll finally get our park tickets so we can hit the parks! Moving to the new resort also means that we’ll start the Disney Dining Plan!!
We spent our weekend making a list of must do attractions and characters that we must see while we were on vacation. Now that I’ve got my spreadsheet ready to go, I can start making some Advance Dining Reservations (ADRs). So far I’ve got Crystal Palace, Garden Grill and 1900 Park Fare. The boys want to do Chef Mickey’s and Cinderella’s Royal Table while we’re there. It’s a long shot for Cindy’s but we’re still trying to make it happen. Joe’s been awesome trying to help make ADRs and switching our rooms back over to Port Orleans.
There are so many more things to do before the trip! Be prepared for lots of lists and spreadsheets as well as projects along the way. I want to hear all about your tips, tricks and suggestions for visiting Disney as well as traveling with little ones in general.
