Welcome to those of you joining me from Disney Babies Blog and those of you just hopping aboard. I am the 4th stop on our Magical Blogorail.
Today I wanted to share with you a Disney Legend that I’ve had the pleasure of meeting. Earlier this year I shared with you my experience with meeting Mr. Lee Cockerell at a speaking engagement of his. At that meeting I purchased his book The Customer Rules and read through it cover to cover in no time. Because of Mr. Cockerell‘s vast experience with The Walt Disney World Resort I was excited to learn more about providing top notch customer service. Mr. Cockerell joined the Disney family in 1990 and was quickly put to work on Disneyland Paris before moving to Orlando, FL and working with the Walt Disney World Resort. During his time with Disney, the ultimate honor was bestowed upon him: receiving a window on Main Street U.S.A..
Customer service is a passion of Mr. Cockerell’s and this shines through in many different ways. Having the guest in mind, he was able to look at purchasing and training throughout the Disney organization and introduced new ways to improve each guest’s experience in the parks. Listening to him speak, you can tell each person’s interaction to this day is still important to him. He takes his time with each person he meets and genuinely takes the time to listen to the answers given by a complete stranger he likely won’t see again. In my brief time with him, I felt like I’d stepped back in time and was talking with Walt Disney himself. They certainly seem to share the same beliefs and ideals so I can see how he became such a welcome addition to the Disney family. Thank you for joining me today. Your next stop on the Magical Blogorail Loop is Disney Nouns.

I absolutely LOVED Lee’s book – so much worthy stuff in there that everyone should be reading and putting into practice. That’s so neat that you had the opportunity to meet him in person.
I LOVED his book and learned so much from him. It’s so cool that you got to meet him in person!
Great that you met him! I have to admit that I’d never heard of him and so how important a post like this is. So many talents to discover and explore!
Sounds like I need to read Lee’s book! I have always been extremely impressed with Disney’s customer service. I wish more places treated their customers they was Disney does!
Lee definitely has a special spot with me. He reminds me to keep thinking of others.
