When you say you’re going to Walt Disney World, most people instantly think of Cinderella Castle. Next would probably be classic attractions like it’s a small world or Space Mountain. Attractions are fun and can be a big part of your Disney vacation but there’s so much more to do in the parks. Entertainment options can be times for you to take a rest and enjoy the air conditioning while seeing some amazing performances.
If you’ve kept up with recent announcements, you’ll know that lots of changes are coming to Hollywood Studios. To accommodate those changes, many attractions and performances are being postponed or discontinued. You’ve still got some options as far as entertainment. Take some time to check out the street performers who come out during the day and interact with guests. You never know who you might run in to! Beauty and the Beast Live on Stage is also still happening. Enjoy a “tale as old as time” while taking a break from Twilight Zone Tower of Terror and Rock N Roller Coaster.
Each country in World Showcase has a different form of entertainment to offer. For the “can’t miss” picks during your trip, be sure to check the Times Guide for the various shows each day. During the holidays, the Holidays Around the World presentations are not to be missed.
Animal Kingdom is one of my favorite parks for entertainment options. It’s home to both Festival of the Lion King (FOTLK) and Finding Nemo – The Musical (FNTM). FOTLK is a favorite of ours due to the incredibly talented actors who make it fun while singing some of the well known songs from the movie. FNTM combines Disney Cast Members with puppetry to create one magical show that tells the Finding Nemo story in a unique way.
During the first hour or so after the park opens, you can find some special residents of Main Street, U. S. A. like the Dapper Dans or even the Mayor himself! You can also take in entertainment in the form of shows in front of Cinderella Castle throughout the day. Not your traditional form of entertainment, Club 626 is a dance party for all ages that takes place in Tomorrowland and is certainly entertaining. Another option in Tomorrowland for entertainment is Monsters Inc Laugh Floor where you can become part of the show by texting in your own jokes to be used during the show.
What’s your favorite form of entertainment in the parks?
