With just three weeks left until this year’s Disney Social Media Moms Celebration, I wanted to gather all my recaps from last year’s celebrations in one spot. This will be the “go to” spot for the 2015 updates. After the 2016 celebration I’ll include a link so you can follow along with the fun from this year too.
Disclosure: I was invited to participate in the 2015 Disney Social Media Moms Celebration. While I was offered accommodations at a discounted rate, all opinions are completely my own.
Let me sum up 2015 in two words: Crazy exhaustion. Four days sounds like a really long time – especially when you’re looking at the itinerary and there’s plenty of free time included in the schedule. Once you’re in the thick of things, time starts flying and before you know it it’s already time to head back to reality. Help me relieve all the fun of last year’s celebration through the links below. I’ll continue to update this post with recaps from everything that happened last year so keep checking back often!
Checking In to the Beach Club
Because we added on a night (we arrived Wednesday night) we stayed at the Beach Club instead of the Yacht Club. We were all excited to stay there since it was a new resort for us.
Conference Registration
Not only do you have to check in to the resort, we also had to check in to the actual conference. Mickey Mouse himself was there to greet us! Y’all I’d struggled with bringing my family along or just coming alone to focus on the conference activities. When my little princess saw Mickey, the look on her face told me I’d made the right decision bringing them along for the magical weekend ahead.
Welcome Reception
The attendees were all treated to a little “alone time” to mix and mingle while sharing lots of hugs because most of us had only met on line.
Family Welcome Dinner
Before long our families joined us and it was time for dinner. The one thing Carter had been asking to do was meet Baymax and I’d told him we would do our best. When the curtains opened and he saw him, watching his face light up blew some pixie dust into my eye… And be sure to check out the recap for the magical flip flop story too.
Illuminations Dessert Party
After dinner and dancing, we headed to a private Illuminations Dessert party with more desserts than you could ever imagine. My boys were in heaven with endless Mickey bars!
Conference Day
We were all at Walt Disney World for one reason – to learn from the best. Disney didn’t disappoint at all!! So many magnificent speakers and presentations filled our day and left us all feeling ready to take on the World!
Goody Bags
We were lucky enough to get several goodies from the sponsors during the conference portion of our celebration weekend.
Character Meet and Greets
After a long day of learning, our families were able to meet back up with us to meet some very special characters!
Beach Party Family Dinner
A bit of park time was built into the schedule between the conference and dinner time. We changed into our dinner attire and headed down to see what was in store. My daughter believed the characters were all there just for her entertainment and because it was a private event, they were able to spend lots of extra time with her.
Ride Filming
Bright and early Saturday morning we headed to an empty Magic Kingdom to do some ride filming. Once we’d filmed our ride, we were able to stay and enjoy Dumbo until it was time to head back to the resort for the next activity. Princess set the goal of riding in every color Dumbo before we had to leave but the moment that stole my heart was when she stopped to kiss Dumbo and thank him.
Disney Springs (Downtown Disney) Movie Screening
Not many pictures to share here… We were able to screen Inside Out about a month prior to when it opened in theaters. Because of that, we had to check our cell phones which meant not pictures to share.
Park Time
During our free time Saturday afternoon, we headed to the Magic Kingdom to check out some of the attractions. It was a very magical evening and everyone had a good time.
Fun Run
No time to sleep at Disney – especially this weekend! Sunday morning we were up and moving for the Fun Run in Epcot. Watching the sun rise over an empty Epcot was a magical way to begin Mother’s Day.
Mother’s Day Farewell Breakfast
After a quick shower, We headed down to breakfast and just like that the weekend was over.
Each section will be updated as posts are published with more detailed reviews.
I was also invited to be part of the 2016 Disney Social Media Moms Celebration! After the celebration you’ll be able to relive the magic with recaps there too.
