This Sunday is finally the big day!! From the second I found out I was selected to host a #DisneySide @Home Celebration I’ve been looking forward to this moment. My love for all things Disney is hard to put into words at times so this has been a challenge. Without overwhelming my party guests, I knew I wanted to share lots of different Disney sides with them. Most people think of the Magic Kingdom when someone mentions Disney but there’s so much more than that.
At our party, we’re going to have some tips for fun Disney movie nights you can have at home, ways to incorporate Disney into reading and homeschooling using some of the Disney themed books we’ve got and of course tips on visit the Disney parks. I can’t do all of this alone. I’ll be sure to refer my guests to some of the sites I go to myself when I’m doing researching or planning a vacation for my family. Many have been mentioned here before (and likely will be again!) including:
Plans have changed several times over but I’ve finally settled on having various “stations” all over the yard with activities and information to entertain my guests. Since we’re having families over, I want to make sure that there are things for all ages to do during the party. My vision is to have an activity, snack and some kind of information at each station. For example, the planning station will have the kids painting a watercolor picture of their favorite character while the parents are reading my tips to plan a fantastic trip while enjoying “make your own snack mix” displayed on my various planning books. When you arrive at the Disney Movie Night table, you’ll be invited to take part in the photo booth while learning some tips to recreate fun movie nights at home without a lot of fuss while enjoying some snacks displayed on cases from our Disney movies.
Instead of expecting my guests to read and retain all the information that we’ll have at the party, I’m inviting everyone here to visit and learn more about Disney. Once the party’s over, I’ll be sharing all my display pieces with information so that you can have the perfect Disney trip for your family without a lot of stress and frustration. Be sure to keep an eye out for all that information over the next few weeks.
Most of the food will be Disney recipes but I’ll be making some Disney inspired things as well. Disney is such a personal thing that it only makes sense to me to put my own spin on the things we’ll be enjoying. I want people to see that a Disney Day is doable and encourage them to host a get together to enjoy the company of friends and reconnect. So much time is spent in front of a screen and sometimes we don’t make time for just being with others.
Another thing my guests will be treated to is some very fun giveaways! I’m working to get something for each family to take home with them. The kiddos will each be getting a pin to use for pin trading during the party. They’ll also get to take their crafts home that they create during the party. For the adults, I’ve been out scooping up Disney themed things in the Valentine’s clearance sections to use for the party and the princesses birthday party next month.
I can’t wait to share all the details with you over the next several days! If all goes as planned, Sunday afternoon is going to be a fantastic, fun filled day for everyone attending!
