Sometimes it’s easier to handle things yourself. Especially if you like to be in control of your vacation like I do. Over several trips I was the one making reservations for our resorts and all of our dining. Yes it was nice to be 100% sure I got exactly what I wanted but it did take a lot of time. As I began making friends in the Disney community, I learned that a girlfriend’s husband was a Disney Travel Agent. Now that I had a direct connect, I felt like I should use his services. Having never used a travel agent in the past, I wasn’t sure what all was involved or what those services cost. Boy did I learn a lot after speaking with Joe!
Probably the thing most people don’t realize is that travel agents don’t charge a fee to plan your vacation. If they do, find another agent! Their revenue comes from the properties, not from their clients.
In my experience we’ve just let our agent know where we’d like to stay and when and he takes care of the rest for us. Once the reservation is booked, he monitors our stay for other discounts that may save us even more money during our vacation, something that’s always appreciated.
They watch for discounts.
You won’t have to worry about checking to see if the latest Disney discount applies to your stay. Your travel agent will take care of that for you and pass along any savings they can.
No need to get up and be on the phone at 6:55 for that coveted Cinderella’s Royal Table reservation. Your agent will get up and make the reservation for you as part of your booking if you want them to. If you want the thrill of snagging that reservation yourself, you can still get up and call too.
Using a Disney travel agent means you’ve got a wealth of Disney knowledge at your disposal. Share questions and concerns with your agent and they’ll give you their experience and feedback to help you make the best choice for your family.
