Welcome to this month’s Blogorail Yellow Loop. Today we are sharing ideas for Disney movie nights.
Looking for a practically perfect movie night?? It’ll be jolly with Mary Poppins and you won’t need a spoon full of sugar to enjoy the fun.
Penguins – whether it’s with marshmallows and edible markers, olives or another favorite food, the penguin snack would be a great addition to your meal for the evening.
Popcorn – it’s a favorite movie treat so it should be part of your evening. To stay with the theme you could call it Mary Poppins-corn if you’re labeling your dishes.
Spoonful of Sugar – cover spoons in some melted chocolate and add sprinkles or make some cake balls (cake pops not on a stick) and serve them on the spoons.
Disney Donna Kay has a great Mary Poppins party idea board with other great food ideas to check out for more inspiration.
Make Your Own Kite – let your movie watchers make their own kite before the movie with something they hope to see or afterwards to represent their favorite part of the movie.
Lifelike Chalk Drawings – if the weather allows, send the kiddos outside with some sidewalk chalk and let them make a drawing they’d like to see come to life or they’d like to be a part of.
Science Stuff – sometimes you have to sneak the learning in where you can and Mary Poppins in a good way to do that. Talk about her ability to fly with her umbrella and how the wind blowing could move her in different directions. You can also use Mary’s measuring tape to measure different things around the house (but I bet nothing will measure up to Mary herself!).
Feeding the Birds – making your own bird seed ornaments is easy and would be a great activity on your movie night.
