Have you ever felt like you’re running the circus at your house? I’m totally feeling that way this week. My circus has way more than three rings though – between the three kiddos, working full time, all the prep for the breast cancer walk Saturday, good friends coming to town next weekend to celebrate their daughter’s birthday and going to Disney in two weeks (yes – two weeks from today I’ll be at my happy place!) there are several rings in my circus to keep me busy.
Strangely enough Corb’s been very, very good the past two days. So good in fact that I’ve grilled him about what he’s done because it must be bad for him to be this well behaved. Carter’s adjusting to school pretty well and got to go to his first “classmate birthday party” this past weekend. Carolina’s just along for the ride with everything. We are so blessed that she’s so laid back for the most part. I do have to admit that double the paperwork that comes home from school is something I was not prepared for even though I thought I was. (that’s another topic for another day!)
Work’s been beyond crazy lately. I’m trying to get lots of my projects tied up before we go on vacation. Hopefully I’ll be able to get some of the things taken care of. Not many people can say it but I truly love my job. It’s not always easy but it’s something that I really enjoy which is what makes it worth it. I could see myself being there for a good long while which is a good thing.
Three years ago we started a breast cancer walk in our community and it’s a handful of people to put on this huge event. These last few days really take a lot of energy and by Saturday afternoon I’ll be ready for a nap for sure!
Next weekend our friends are coming back to town to visit and celebrate their daughter’s birthday. We’ll have about 15 families of tweens – both girls and boys – running around. I don’t think my husband know yet just what he’s in for but this will give him a window to what his life will be like in a few more years…should be interesting! We’re spending Saturday morning at our local pumpkin patch then it’s home to party!! I’m going to cook the food and make the cake so I’ll have a full report I’m sure after the party. The birthday girl wants a guitar cake so it should be interesting.
Last but not least we’re leaving for Disney in two weeks!! I’ve got very mixed feelings about leaving on Thursday. We’ll be missing the boy’s Halloween parties at school and Corbin’s quarterly ceremony. They’re both ok with leaving early (wouldn’t you pick Disney over being at school a couple extra hours???) but I still feel bad. I’ve got so many things to still do and it will all have to come together very quickly in the few days before we leave. With all my lists, I know it will and if we forget something, there’s a Target in Orlando so we’re good to go!
What are you up to? Ever felt like you were juggling eighteen different balls in the circus show?
