Happy Saturday!! I hope you’re enjoying your weekend and am so appreciative that you’re spending part of your day with me. Thank you!
Saving money is something in everyone’s mind these days. For me, it’s always been something I thought about and was excited to learn new things about. I’ve never been “rich” so saving money has always been something I practiced. To me, it’s not about being cheap, it’s about having the money to do things when we want to or have a savings for a rainy day. Sometimes people who use coupons or shop clearance racks are giving a bad wrap but I’m here to tell ya’ I’m right there shopping the sales and clearance racks with you! I’ve been in lines at the grocery store before when people will moan and groan about the amount of stuff I’m buying then about the amount of coupons I’ve got. The cashiers are usually on my side here and will proudly announce how much I “owe” at the beginning then swipe my store card and start scanning coupons. Most often, they’re almost as excited as I am to see the new total after all of my savings and the moaners in line are asking me how I do it as they’re watching the price drop.
The most common excuse I hear from people is that they don’t have time to clip coupons. To me, this is a bunch of hooey! Here are some of my common answers:
- You don’t sit and watch tv for an hour a week? That’s a perfect time to flip through the inserts from Sunday’s paper and clip coupons.
- You don’t make a grocery list? Again, this is a good time to look through the add and see if there are things that are on sale that would work with meals you’re making (or might sound better than a meal you’ve got planned!)
- If you’ve got that much disposable income, just give it to me instead! 🙂
