Some days I wonder how I manage to get everything done, even with hubby around to “help”. Hubby was given the chance to attend a course at the National Fire Academy so he’s headed out of town early Saturday morning for the week and won’t return until the following Saturday evening. This means I’m on my own for the week! I’ve been here before – for both one week and two weeks when he’s went to other classes. (Note: being home alone with a 7 and 5 year old while in the first trimester of pregnancy filled with terrible “morning” aka all day sickness is not such a fun thing!) Thankfully (and at the same time not so thankfully) everything seems to be happening this week for us so I won’t have to juggle too much. Wednesday and Thursday at “Back to School Night” for the boys (one night for each kid’s grade), Friday night we’ve got a flu clinic at work I’m overseeing, the same flu clinic returns Saturday morning, Sunday morning we’ll be busy helping at a pancake breakfast for the fire department in honor of September 11th then it’s back to work and school on Monday. We don’t have much on the schedule next week yet thankfully, The biggest thing is our local consignment sale next Saturday. It should be interesting taking all three kiddos by myself on Saturday morning – which is the half off day (which means it will be completely crazy!). I can’t miss it though because there are always such good deals to be had. (If hubby were home, I’d be going to a sale about an hour and a half away then coming back to go to the one here but I’m not up for all that by myself) We’re on a pretty good schedule and the boys seem to do well when it’s just mommy home so that makes it not so bad. Friday night I’ll be hitting the grocery store to stock up and hopefully prevent any unnecessary trips during the week. We all know trips to the store with one kid, let alone three, aren’t always the most fun.
So how do you manage to stay organized – single parent or not? I’ll hopefully have some tips and tricks at the end of our adventure to share.
