You’ve probably heard it a million times before: “Time flies! Enjoy every second.” Like a ton of bricks, it hit me this weekend as I was elbow deep in tutus preparing for the princesses second birthday that I have a nine (almost ten), six and one (pretty much two) year old in my house! Just yesterday I was bringing my oldest baby home from the hospital. Now I’m done with new babies and both rejoicing and reminiscing over all the firsts and lasts happening.
Never in a million years did I see myself living at the ocean with three amazing children, a job that I love, my very own little piece of the internet and being a proud Neurotic Disney Mom (NDM). Of course now I can’t imagine myself without any one of those things because they’ve all become a part of my every day. When I had my first son, I hoped we’d take him to Disney “some day”. Years passed and eventually that day came after moving across the country.
Taking that first Disney trip truly changed my life. Having one common thing that we all love in our own special way is such a bond for our family. We all have our favorite attractions, resorts, shows, characters, snacks and time of year to visit. If we hadn’t moved across the country to within driving distance to Walt Disney World, I don’t know that we would have ever actually visited one of the parks and it’s scary to think how my life would be different without that piece of my personal puzzle.
If there’s something out there that you want, find a way to make it happen! It’s never to late to make a dream come true. Hard work and self control might need to play a part in making your dream become a reality, but it will be so worth it if it’s what you really want in your life and is meant to be. Don’t give up on your dreams – no matter how impossible they seem. Walt didn’t give up on them and neither should you.
