I get asked this question so frequently. It’s also interchanged with “I don’t know how you do it”. I’m not sure either. I’ve never been a “lazy” person or someone who’s good at relaxing. I like to stay busy and be involved in things that are important to my family and friends. Here’s a rundown of the things I’m currently involved in:
School PTO – I was lucky enough to be the President for this school year but was also just as lucky to be able to hand things over to some other poor, unsuspecting mom (just kidding…she knew what she was getting in to!). For the upcoming school year, I’ll still be on the board as the Volunteer Coordinator and “Cash for Trash” coordinator. This position will force me to talk and interact with other people, taking me outside my comfort zone, which I hope will help me get better with interactions.
Auxiliary – I’ve been the President of this group four about three years. We hold fundraisers for the local fire department and take refreshments to calls to make sure our firefighters stay hydrated and safe on longer calls.
Breast Cancer Walk – The Auxiliary started this walk last year and I Co – Chaired with another great girl. Things got busier for her with school this year so I’m the Chair this year. It’s so amazing to see everything you’ve been working on for a year come together the day of the event. You’ll hear more about this as we get closer to the walk in October.
WDWFanZone – I am so honored to be a part of this amazing Disney website. Check it out for planning tips and tricks and lots of other great Disney information. I couldn’t have asked for a better group to be part of for my first real blogging and writing experience.
The Disney Driven Life – I started watching a vidcast a few months ago and almost instantly felt connected to the people involved. They were all warm, loving people. We corresponded back and forth on Twitter and in my eyes they were super stars. They were in need of some help and I offered to lend my OCD organizing and list making skills to them. The information contained on this site is so neat. It’s such a wide variety of information and it’s not all focused on the parks. You really get to know the bloggers because they relate things to their own lives.
Work – I’m currently working full time in a position that I really like for a company I really like. My position doesn’t leave me a lot of free time during the day which sometimes is a blessing and a curse at the same time.
Mommy and Wife – Even though this is at the end of the list, it’s my first priority. My kiddos come first in everything I do and I rarely pass up a chance to be able to spend time with them. Some of the best moments are snuggling my kiddos in bed before we get up to start our day.
Disney Nut – This isn’t technically a “job” but is usually the way we fill our free time (when we’re able to find some), either planning a trip, taking a trip, watching DVDs, reading books or finding another way to bring Disney and it’s magic into our lives.
How do I fit it all in? I honestly don’t have any idea. Some how it all fits itself into my life and I know if I quit doing something listed here, it wouldn’t be long before it was replaced with something else.
What do you do to fill your days?? How do you manage work and play?
