|Yes my son’s that excited by 7am every morning 🙂|
We had a DC trip in our future but plans have changed a bit and we’re now heading to Disney instead. There are several factors playing into the decision but a couple are location (Disney’s much closer) and cost (finding a hotel deal in DC is crazy!). I recently posted over at WDW Fan Zone about planning a last minute trip and my take on planning details.
Now that we know when we’re going (current plan is for the boys and I to leave Friday afternoon on 9/2 and staying through Monday, 9/5), we’ve got to figure out where we’re staying. We can get a decent Passholder rate at All Star Movies for the long weekend. The other option would be to stay off site. We’re leaning towards on site right now because hubby will be flying in from his class in Maryland to join us. Using Magical Express will save me from having to go get him at the airport. Another bonus of staying on site is the Extra Magic Hours we’ll be able to take advantage of while we’re there. This will help us have some time in the parks off site guests don’t get. Since it’s going to be a busy holiday weekend, I’m thinking we might need this time.
Hubby will also need to pack all of his stuff before he leaves for his two week class for us to take for him which could be interesting. I don’t have a problem packing for the boys and I since I usually do for the trips anyways. Being a short trip, I shouldn’t need to take too many things.
As for food, since we’re considering staying on site, I’ll probably just take some snack stuff & a cooler with drinks and things for the kiddos. We’ll probably also spring for the fridge in our room since it will be so crazy hot.
I’m hoping this week to spend some time figuring out the “best” parks to visit during which days so I can start letting friends know. I’m excited to meet up with some people while we’re on our trip and say hello. I could really use a hug from a good friend right now and Disney friends give great hugs 🙂
I hate to cut this short but there’s a huge storm right on top of us (we’ve already lost power once) so I’ll have to continue with plans another night. In the meantime, share your tips for planning with me. I love learning new tips and tricks.
