It’s no secret I’m a fan of Pinterest. If you’re one of the five people left in the world who hasn’t checked it out, you really should…you’ll never have free time again! Thanks to my newest addiction, I found a ton of adorable “make at home” holiday gifts. Just because there’s not something specifically for the holiday you’re celebrating (if it’s other than Christmas) doesn’t mean you couldn’t adapt these to fit your holiday’s celebrations.
So, me and my big ideas….it was easy finding the ideas for the craft projects. I’ve got three kiddos – two of which LOVE craft projects and will more than willingly participate in crafting with me. Why get the house all messy just for my kiddos? A good girlfriend (or one who’s completely lost her mind!) would invite other girlfriends and their kids over too. I started envisioning a mass craft production day where everyone had a great time together crafting away happily.
My original plan was to go to our town’s Christmas parade then have everyone come back to our house for lunch and snacks after the parade and craft away for a couple of hours (or until our little artists had had enough). Then we would all drink hot cocoa and watch The Polar Express and other fun, festive shows. Everyone was on board until we checked our calendars and realized that wasn’t the best day for us since we all have other things going on. Being the determined (read stubborn) person I am, I wasn’t going to let this little snafu stand in our way. We picked anther day and I jumped back into the planning of the Christmas Craft Day.
Here’s what I was thinking:
Everyone arrives and our first project is making snacks to eat while we’re crafting (or take with you as a little party favor). Here are some of my favorites from Pinterest:
