I still cannot believe that in 16 short days I’ll have my family all packed up and we’ll be heading off to Disney World!! Although we’ve been a number of times in the past four years, this trip is a whole new variety. We’ve never taken an infant to Disney before. My youngest was 15 months when he went for the first time and he was already eating “real” food and was great at just hanging out. Sis has the hanging out part down and I think she’ll do awesome in her stroller watching everyone pass her by. I am slightly worried about her food situation.
Sis started Stage 2 food Sunday and tried some applesauce (which she really seemed to like!). As much as I don’t want to rush her into growing too quickly, she’s so ready to move to the next stage as far as food goes. We can’t eat or drink in front of her without her freaking out and grabbing at whatever we’ve got. This gives me hope that we’ll be able to find something for her to eat while we’re out and about in the parks. I plan on bringing her some baby food to eat when we have a sit down meal. Quick service meals have me a little more worried. I’ll have to be sure I’ve always got something for her on hand.
We also gave the sippy cup a shot on Sunday. She really seemed to like using it but she’s still very much getting used to it and pretty much had a bath every time she tried. Of course she still takes a bottle and we’ll have those while we’re on vacation but I’m also going to try to get her to use the sippy cup more.
What tips and tricks do you have when traveling with an infant who’s just getting into eating “real” food?
