Nope I’m not counting down to our next Disney trip – there are only two short weeks left until Christmas!! We worked hard to get into the holiday spirit this weekend. Saturday Santa stopped by the fire station to have breakfast with the kiddos before the town’s Christmas parade. Sunday Santa stopped by the local bowling alley to meet with the little ones before the tree lighting. As much as I would have loved to come home and nap after the parade Saturday, I wound up cleaning the house for a few hours and trying to get some more decorations up around the house. I should have gotten more done Sunday because not much happened on Sunday. Most of the day I spent thinking of our friends; the husband passed away last week leaving behind not only his wife but their three young children so having fun and decorating just wasn’t that easy when there was a funeral going on. During the holiday season and throughout the year, take some time every day and let those who are important to you know that – spend time together, text, talk, snuggle, smile.
How’s the holiday prep going at your house? I still haven’t picked out pictures for Christmas cards or anything! We got some cute pictures on our Photopass card at Disney so I need to get the pictures edited and order the cd so it gets here soon. Our friends and family will be getting new year’s cards this year!
Another thing I need to get started on this week is baking for the holidays. Our co-workers usually get a container of goodies as their holiday gift from hubby and me. Since my KitchenAid mixer broke, I haven’t baked nearly as much as I normally do.
This weekend I’ll be braving the crowds to finish up my shopping. Then it’ll be home to wrap and pack boxes to send to family and friends back up north. Shopping with the crowds is enough for me; bringing three kids along with me to try and get it done will only add to the fun.
How’s your holiday prep going? What’s already done and what’s still left for you to finish up?
